LifeSpan Religious Education at Hopedale

Social Responsibility and Community Service

Religious education seeks to create individuals who care about others and the world that we all share. In the past, children and adults have been encouraged to participate in the service projects described below. If you know of some needs we can help to meet, or if you have ideas for new projects, please let us know.

CROP Walk Walkers are supported by sponsors to raise funds for the hungry. The walk usually takes place in September.

Guest at Your Table From Thanksgiving through December. Collection boxes are distributed and placed on our tables at home. Donations are made with each meal to let us know the joy of helping others to share in the quality of life we enjoy. Funds raised go to the UU Service Committee.

Holiday Mitten Sale Students decorate and sell paper mittens to raise funds for warm clothing for the needy.

Service as a part of the curriculum Socialresponsibility issues and community service will be incorporated into the curriculum at Children’s Chapel and in their regular classes. The Middle School class and Youth Group will be encouraged to develop a special service activity.
