Diane Wright will join us again to discuss “Flirting with Disaster.” As Mary Shmich wrote in her famous Chicago Tribune column of advice for young people, “The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at 4 p.m. on some idle Tuesday.” And yet, more than ever, we are encouraged to prepare for emergencies of all kinds. September 1 in Japan, is National Disaster Preparedness Day. We’ll take a look at the ways emergencies and disasters impact us, both when they actually occur, and when we are simply imagining them. The service begins at 10:30am. Children’s Religious Education and Childcare are available.
