Sunday Service September 29: “The Wisdom of Trees: Learning from the Natural World.”

When European explorers first came to the area that became the United States, there were a billion acres of trees. We now have about 750 million acres of trees, but more are disappearing as forested areas are destroyed due to population growth and economic demands. Tree decimation also is occurring all over the planet. This intergenerational program by HUUC member Doris Bergen will focus on the benefits of trees and describe the wisdom they can share with us if we value, preserve, enhance, and enjoy both their and our presence in the natural world. The service begins at 10:30am. Children’s Religious Education and Childcare are available.
