January 5 marks the eve of Twelft h Night. In Medieval times, this would mean the end of the winter festival, and the end of a time of “misrule,” when social conventions were reversed. Kings became peasants; peasants became kings. Diane Wright will l help us think about more contemporary “topsy turvy”-ness, and consider what we each might do if we were chosen to be The Lord of Misrule. Patty Klingenberg is service leader.
