Zoom Service – CASA Volunteering in the Time of COVID

Charles Ganelin, who works as a CASA volunteer (CASA=Court Appointed Special Advocate) involved with children in “the system” because they’ve been removed from their home, finds this is a rewarding experience, especially since he works with Spanish-speaking families. Being a CASA in the time of COVID presents special challenges: being with the children and parents (biological, custodial, foster) is crucial, yet we must keep our distance for everyone’s health. How is it possible to develop those necessary relationships to represent the child when contact is limited?  Service Leader:  Linda Amspaugh
